Digital Ghosts

We are living in a world in the glow of a screen,  

A million faces shining bright, but nothing’s what it seems

We are wishing for followers likes, in a race we can’t win,  

Stuck inside our neon cages where the wires lock us in

But we’re here as Digital Ghosts, feeling lost in reality,  

Can we unplug, and can we escape

this virtual entity

This non entity

The world outside is spinning, but we’re frozen in the stream,  

A thousand voices shouting loud, and no one hears me scream

We are building walls to keep us safe, but the cracks are showing through,  

An artificial generation, with nothing left to lose.  

But we’re here as Digital Ghosts, feeling lost in reality,  

Can we unplug, and can we escape

this virtual entity

This non entity

Are we flesh, are we code

Do we die, or just reload

Lost in static, in noise,

Fading  away with no choice
