When I go back in time
and hear the music play
the variety like beer on tap
when choices ruled the way
and no one was getting tired then
of hearing the same old voice
as I do now

Well I know, things change and just as well
and I’m hoping for the best
but I’m tired of hearing
the same Sheeran songs
and when Ed is giving us a break
and we hope for reprieve
Adele steps in

I want to travel back in time
I want to stay for a while
I want to hear cheerful music
I want to dress in the old style
I want to hear different genres
Funk, Rock, Ska Soul and Punk
all night
I want to wear jeans that fit me
that keep my arse out of sight
I wanna dance to a rhythm
with shoes or boots, not with Nike
not hear a single R&B
to bore the shit out of me
like now

Maybe its wishful thinking
naive or out of date
and those who prefer what goes today
I never can relate
sounds more like tracks in video games
when guys and girls are warbling on and on

Well I know I’m from a different time
and I’ve heard it all before
before Ed, Adele and R&B
permeated airwaves
and my soul
