Dreaming of my return one day
to the pleasant land that’s so far
where my story started so long ago
from a boy to man it has seen me grow

Some time later I was made to leave
to a foreign land and forced to believe
a new journey and all it would entail
set me up in life, sure to never fail

Years away have taken their toll
and confusion built up beyond control
to a point where I could no longer see
when all hope was taken away from me

Some will say it’s all in the mind
and that what I crave I will never find
