the world go by as I stand still

Go with the flow, or maybe  chill

I’m not a follower

Never have been and never will

So I’ll just sit and wait

I’ll wait, ‘cause I’ve got time to kill

The fools in all their certainty

While the wise are begging

For those who lead to set us free

I won’t be following

You would have thought they call the shots,

Are in control and choose their lots 

Live off the grid, are short on trust

Because they’re always saying ‘no’

But in their haste to have control

They lose the game, eye off the ball

And end up looking rather small

In front of those who are in the know
