A morning stroll down through the avenue
the smell of spring is in the air
blending with aromas from the coffee bars
the city welcomes those who are here to share
Down by the river in the morning sun
the world is out and strolling by
it’s not the sort of place to stay indoors
and it’s not easy, to say goodbye

Lisbon is on my mind
it’s on my mind always
and it’s getting harder
the longer I’m away
How I long to be there with you
to leave the fog behind us
and to start anew
yes me and you
Lisbon is on my mind
takes me back to the days
when all those around us
seemed to show the way
to a happier conformity
enjoying what they have here
and to while away
a sunny day

And from the square we head down to the bridge
the water laps at our feet
the children playing in the morning sun
and I’m with everyone, I wish to meet
the river touches the horizon
the fragrant air fills my head
the city’s full of love and memories
and it feels like home…
