People are dying
trying to find a place to call home
children are crying
with no food and shelter, they’re alone
seems like humanity
is failing at this crucial stage
when all the haters vent their anger
and they spew their hate…

…online
that’s where they tell their lies
online
that’s where they spew their hate
online
energy wasted as rage
online…

They’re building borders
trying to keep out those who seek our food
when our obesity is killing more than wars could
seems like humanity
is falling at this hurdle
as someone said, the milk of human kindness curdled

The greed and avarice
displayed by all those who don’t care
the ruling classes
who have placed us in this nightmare
all take to Twitter
spreading lies and trying to look cool
in competition to see who attracts the most fools

the orphans of this war
are dying at our doorstep too,
pro-lifers say they have no rights
or any sympathy due
for they’re already born
if only they stayed in the womb
they’d be protected
and ignored by every newsroom
